Sally Lou Ostman, 89, Two Harbors, passed peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2022, after a brief stay at Waterview Shores.

Sally was born July 29, 1932, to Victor and Esther Wuorio. She grew up and attended school in Two Harbors. On January 13, 1951, Sally married Bill Ostman and shortly after they moved to Newport News, Virginia, where they made their home and started a family while Bill was stationed at Fort Eustis.

They returned to Two Harbors and Sally stayed home with her children while they were young. She then worked for several years at Homcraft Bakery for her cousin, Bruce Johnson. In the early 1970s, Sally and Bill owned and operated the Two Harbors taxi service. Sally found her passion as a caregiver and worked in home health until retiring in 1994. After retirement, Sally and Bill owned and operated Ostman Sand & Gravel.

Sally loved being outdoors, whether it was maintaining their acres of lawn, stacking firewood, or simply riding her scooter around the neighborhood. She enjoyed going to casinos, especially with Harbor Mates, and socializing over coffee or a meal at a restaurant. But most of all she cherished her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and son, William John Jr. “Buddy”.

Sally is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Bruce) Suoja, LuAnne (Brad) Ronning, Tammy (Tim) Olson; son, Mike (Chris) Ostman; grandchildren, Bill and Matt Suoja, Doug Ronning (Tiffany Pollard), Carrie (Jason) Peterka, Toni (Justin) Rasmussen, Tara (Miles) Wittlief, Steve Ostman, Jakkie (John) DeCorsey; great grandchildren, Kaylen Ronning, Chloe and Hunter Peterka, Grace and Blake Rasmussen, Wyatt Wittlief, Savayda DeCorsey, Clayton Pierce; step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, Brianna (Jason), Maxwell and Eleanora Emerson, Taylor (Paige) and Aretta McDonald, and Caleb McDonald; siblings, Bob Wuorio and JoAnne Peterson; and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery.
