Fifth-grader Sean Dugas-Johnson stopped to visit with his teacher from last year, Ms. Claire (Claflin) on his way to find his new classroom. Ms. Claire and Sean visited warmly with Ms. Claire reassuring him that his new teacher was excellent. Sean also shared his big-brotherly concerns about his younger sister’s entry into Kindergarten and her ability to find her way around the Minnehaha Elementary building. Once again, Ms. Claire offered supportive context for the transition, and commented that Sean was a very empathetic student. For his part Sean clearly had a trusting confidence in Ms. Claire.
