Diana Lee Nitzsche

Diana Lee Nitzsche born October 4, 1943 passed away on March 19, 2024.

She was the first of five siblings to Marion and Ervin Mann in Milwaukee, WI.

Diana met her husband Manfred on a blind date in Milwaukee, WI. They fell in love and married a short time later. They were avid adventurers with travel to Puerto Rico, Germany, sailing Lake Superior in their 30-foot Islander sloop, motorcycling on their Gold Wing and camping and clamming on Washington shores. Diana and Manfred celebrated their 50th anniversary with a train trip through Denali creating more great memories.

Diana and Manfred moved to northeast Minnesota in 1971. They purchased Sugar Loaf Cabins in Schroeder, MN with a verbal agreement and small down payment. After falling in love with sailing they sold the cabins and ventured out to travel the Great Lakes. Eventually they found themselves back on the MN north shore in Two Harbors where they purchased and operated Carlstrom Furniture. They followed their daughter Lisa to Washington State years later where the adventures continued.

Diana enjoyed genealogy, gardening, cooking and baking, scrapbooking, and spending time with her friends and church Peace Lutheran. Diana was a member of the choir and bible study groups. In December 2023 she assisted in directing the Christmas event at Peace Lutheran.

Diana is preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Ervin Mann and brother-in-law Lyle Northey.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Manfred and her daughter Lisa (Yoav) Sibony, siblings Trish Northey, Al (Debbie) Mann, Michael Mann, David (Sherry) Mann and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Peace Lutheran in Covington, WA at 2:00pm on June 8, 2024.
