A1 ingly quiet; in fact traffic appeared similar to or quieter than usual for the summer, with the exception of more on-street parking on 1st and 2nd avenues. All the local business owners interviewed expressed disappointment that they did not see a greater uptick in customers, perhaps because parking in town was discouraged and the shuttle service kept most people from infiltrating the city streets.

The Lake County Board of Commissioners met on Jan. 25 in Two Harbors. Chairman Rich Sve began the meeting with a reading of a proclamation honoring frontline workers and, with “Project Bluelight,” encouraging all to display blue lights from Jan 24-31. “We extend our utmost appreciation, gratitude, and sincere thanks,” he said, “to medical staff, teachers, service workers, emergency workers and all others on the front lines during the pandemic.”
