Friends of the Waterfront will make regular reports in the Lake County Press updating readers on progress being made on revisioning the Agate Bay waterfront.Friends of the Waterfront make progress toward design goalsSince the Local Design Workshop in June, led by CIRD (Citizens Institute for Rural Design), that City Council members and many community residents took part in, there has been continued progress towards advancing this effort which began over a year ago.Later in June, we hosted Kristi Duval of Duval Design an affiliate of the UMN Minnesota Design Center, to begin work on a grant from the Empowering Small Minnesota Communities (ESMC) program, a community-centered collaboration with the University of Minnesota to support small communities in becoming well-positioned to benefit from federal, state, and local investments.
