If you like hockey, this time of year in The State of Hockey is a veritable smorgasbord of the game we love. In the past week, the Girls State High School tourney was held and Gentry Academy prevailed in Class AA over Andover by a 4-1 final and Warroad repeated as the Class A Champ with a 3-1 win over Orono. At the annual Ms. Hockey banquet this afternoon, Edina senior netminder Uma Corniea was chosen as the senior goaltender of the year and Andovers Ella Boerger was crowned as the Ms. Hockey winner. I got to see several tournament games over the week and this event just keeps getting better and better.
