Baptism River Realties

Recent snowshoe hikes on the Wolf Ridge ELC trails have revealed the movement of a very interesting species that has been scarce in our snowpack for almost two years. Staff and resident naturalists have reported tracks anywhere from seven to ten inches in length and three to four inches in width, noting several unique patterns among them. Resident wildlife trackers were baffled with the lack of movement on their infrared trail cameras, yet the quantity of tracks on the trail to Wolf Lake and Skyview Ropes Course started to tell the story.

Beyond Reason

Spring Break 2022! They say it’s gonna be epic! But is it? Let us consider. Spring Break is a strangely named week in March wherein the schools, the same ones that were hitherto educating our children, for some inexplicable reason, set them free.

Thoughts from a Pastor’s Heart

In his book A Gentle Thunder, Max Lucado speaks about Wile E. Coyote from the old Roadrunner cartoons. Wile E. chases after his skinny (but intelligent) prey, and just as he’s about to grab his lunch, the roadrunner steps aside and stops on a dime right on the edge of a huge canyon. Wile E., his momentum built to a feverish pitch cannot stop – and over the edge he goes. He doesn’t fall right away. Sincere thanks to Scott Ross, coaches, athletes, and fans for the tear-jerking recognition before the boys basketball game against Barnum on Friday night. I was not aware of it, he (Ross) did a great job of surprising me and arranged for my whole family to be there.

In Defense of Mayor Swanson

I have known Two Harbors Mayor Chris Swanson for about 12 years. We do not socialize, but talk often about our shared interests of politics, love of country, community and family. Chris always talks about making the area a better place for the citizens, and his family to live. I have watched the personal attacks on Chris for the last few weeks and want to share my thoughts.
