The Reluctant Editor
I had a chance to visit with a concerned citizen from the Alger Grade about a recently discussed cell tower proposal, not the first such proposal and not the last in this world of hand held devices and the internet.

In 2013, our family was sailing into Cape May, New Jersey, on a blustery, chilling day. There were logs sticking up out of the brown water where we were headed, and Mark was up at the bow with our flip-phone, calling the nearest marina and trying (quickly!) to find out if we had enough room to anchor between deadfalls. After a moment, he walked back to where I sat at the wheel in a bit of a daze. “The phone broke.” He held out half the phone to illustrate. The other half was in the deep.
Editor, Glad we have our own newspaper!! Reading the most recent edition, I enjoyed the Finland News reporter’s apologizing for no “motoring” news in a recent report. Or times we watch the news and see all the tragedy in the world and wonder where God is in all of it. Or times we feel lonely, ignored, or abused and seek comfort from the Lord, but we don’t seem to find any.
There is a housing crisis in Lake County. In a sense, there’s always been a housing crisis for younger people starting out with few assets but with the booming market for home short term rentals the housing market is thin indeed.
Ten years from now I’ll wager that many or most of us will have heat pumps in our basements, electric cars in our garages, and electric stoves in our kitchens. I first heard about heat pumps from a friend, Eric Enberg, from Duluth.
To the editor: The Resign and Recall Committee would like to respond to Katya Gordon’s column in last week’s paper. We believe the time is now, for the citizens of Two Harbors to take action.
I asked the question a few weeks ago if we’re teaching our children that it’s OK to lie, deceive, misinform or otherwise make stuff up to prove a point. I am still asking that question.
