This week churches around the world commemorate the life of Martin Luther who died almost 500 years ago this week, on February 18th, 1546. Luther led a lively movement of protest (“protestantism”) in a time of profound abuses of power. What lessons can this brilliant-and-flawed leader of the protestant reformation teach us about living in a time of crisis? Here are six lessons from Martin Luther’s life and witness that might guide and inspire us today.
