How a newspaper becomes designated for official publications; a chance for you to let local elected officials know what you think At the Lake County Press the New Year comes with it a chance to thank all of our readers, subscribers, and advertisers who have helped us launch this really ambitious newspaper. Amid much ado from many about “how we need a real newspaper again”, we have worked harder than you might know to build something from scratch with our heads, hearts, and patience all operating at max capacity.

Traveling in Perilous Conditions into 2023 As all of us are aware, this winter season has been truly wintry, including a major winter storm mid-month, followed by bitterly cold weather leading into Christmas. On the upside, we have been provided with some breath taking sights--with snow laden trees sculpted into fantastical creatures and all the world looking white, bright, and beautiful.

Letters to the editor, columns, and cartoons are the opinions of the contributors and not necessarily the Lake County Press. While we encourage readers to submit letters to the editor on issues they feel strongly about, we encourage writers to be respectful to one another. Your message is more likely to be heard if it is delivered in a civil manner. We also ask that letters include name, address, and phone number. Tettegouche State Park is accepting two-dimensional work with a “North Woods Aesthetic” for potential display. All media accepted, any non-two-dimensional work that can be hung on a wall may be accepted. Gallery space is primarily 48 inches high, with a few works taller that can be shown on side walls of gallery space.
