Fall Lake Township polls closed at 8 p.m., ballots were counted, and the Board of Canvass declared incumbent Craig Seliskar supervisor for the next three years. Seliskar was the only candidate listed on the ballot, receiving 30 votes.

Every year Minnesota’s legislators hold a sort of open house spanning several days, an opportunity for local elected officials to meet with state legislators in their natural habitat, the State Capitol in St. Paul.

Silver Bay’s Black Beach Park area has gained an ever-widening audience of people who appreciate access to a beautiful section of Lake Superior beach. During 2019 when more people sought outdoor recreation, it got a little big for its britches, and in 2020 the pressure of increased use made it obvious to the city that changes must be made to improve traffic flow and access.
It was the longest meeting Fall Lake Township has had in a long time due to a lot of housekeeping with reading of resolutions regarding the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Normally the meetings are a half hour. Maybe a bit longer. This one was nearly two hours long.
Two Harbors native and now Brooklyn, NY fashion designer Fletcher Kasell was riding the subway last month with Tanner Richie, partner and co-founder of the fashion brand Tanner Fletcher, when their phones blew up with congratulatory messages. Turns out their photo was part of a Vogue article featuring emerging and new designers. The next week Tanner Fletcher launched its Fall line at New York’s Fashion Week and then the founders were off to Paris’ Fashion Week.
Duluth native Emily Richey and Washington state transplant Kyle Cook, are putting down roots on an old 60-acre dairy farm on the Two Harbors Road. No milk cows planned. Instead, an abundance of veggies grown with beyond organic practices and community gatherings are the focus. Their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) offers weekly produce, with add-ons of maple syrup and flowers. The entrepreneurial couple is booking picturesque weddings for the fall of 2022. “We’d like to support the local food system and be a place where the community gathers” said Emily. Birthday, retirement, non-profit meetings, and retreats are all possible at Agate Acres.

Before I explain the notification process and eligibility requirements, I need to stress a few points.
