A local group of people in the Finland area have been meeting regularly to problem-solve around solutions for housing needs.Finn Nikula, lifelong resident of Finland, kids that he is the “Common Sense Coordinator” for the group of citizens that is calling itself Finland Home Solutions.Nikula says that focusing on home as a basic need for everyone regardless of income, and avoiding debate over definitions of affordable housing was important in the naming.“This is about opening our eyes, myself included, about how we can make homes that are livable in a place that is changing,” stated Nikula, adding that could include creative approaches for rehabbing existing houses, new construction, and more.Learning more deeply what the current challenges are to increasing solid housing in the Finland area has gotten off to a good start, says Nikula.
