The concert will begin at 7:30 pm on Friday, September 16th on the City Center Park stage near City Hall. [This is a rain or shine event. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the Reunion Hall, 97 Outer Drive.] “A true rock-n-roll original will close up the 2022 Silver Bay Music In The Park Concert Series,” said Rocky Wall Productions President Nelson French, “Join us for an evening of electricity and music featuring second generation Rockabilly Hall of Fame rocker Robby Vee. You won't want to miss this last FREE outdoor concert of the season!” Robby Vee 'The Prince Of Twang” was born Robert Velline and named after his father Bobby Vee. Vee has been performing his unique style of Rockn Roll music for years on stages across the globe. Having been on tour with the legends and architects of rock-n-roll, Robby has learned from, and shared credits and stages with the best, including Carl Perkins, Bo Diddley, Albert Lee, Little Richard, the Everly Brothers, Sir Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Dion, The Righteous Brothers, Buddy Holly’s Crickets, Dick Clark and his ‘Caravan of Stars Rock ‘N’ Roll Show’, and his father, 60’s pop rocker Bobby Vee. Robby is known for combining elements of his vast repertoire telling stories that bridge the generation gap from “the roots of Rock n Roll to the new sounds of Americana music of today”. As an Entertainer with many studio records to his name, countless guest artist credits, and a history of extensive touring, Vee has captured the attention of audiences and respected industry professionals both Nationally and Internationally.

Moving operations from her long-running Salon 507 at her home, Courtney is excited about how renovations of the newly opened Salon 507 on Seventh have turned out, crediting husband Brian with lots of hard work tearing apart and rebuilding the 1899 structure.

After 43 years Norm Bourdage is retiring as a bus driver for Lake Superior School District. This ‘50s-vintage restored bus waited with celebratory banner to greet him on his return from his last run on the final day of school. “This last bunch of kids has been the best,” said Bourdage about his most recent contingent of students. This year three high school students along the north shore received the first ever scholarships from Amy Jordahl Insurance & Financial Services LLC. Jordahl says that she and her team wanted to support north shore communities and decided to offer $500 scholarships to seniors in Grand Marais, Silver Bay and Two Harbors.
