Lovin’ Lake County wins Explore Minnesota Tourism Award for Most Outstanding Video

Lovin’ Lake County, the destination marketing organization (DMO) for Lake County, Minnesota, was recognized for excellence in tourism marketing at the 2025 Explore Minnesota Tourism Conference. The organization received the Outstanding Video Award for its “Nature’s Rhythm, Center Stage” video campaign. It also ranked as a finalist in two additional categories: Outstanding Marketing Campaign and Outstanding Destination Website.

Artist Sam Zimmerman to read “How the Birds Got Their Songs”, free at the Depot Feb. 7

Lake County Historical Society invites families, young readers, and book lovers to join a traditional story, told in both English and Ojibwe, of How the Birds Got Their Songs, a captivating children’s book brought to life by Travis Zimmerman, Sam Zimmerman / Zhaawanoogiizhik, & Marcus Ammesmaki / Aanikanootaagewin. Sam will be reading Friday February 7th at 2:00PM and Travis will be reading on Saturday February 8th, 2025 at 2:00PM at The Depot Museum, 520 South Ave. Two Harbors, MN. Each reading and activities will last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
