Fun with tombstones

Sixth graders at Two Harbors High School have once again learned about engineering by designing tombstones, some with moving lights and moving parts.Learning how to create a design as a team and implement it by using tools gives them a hands-on experience with a fun and spooky theme.The headstones will be on display at Uremovich’s house at 323 3rd Ave.

Constitutional Amendment 1 gives your vote direct impact

You will see a YES/NO option on your ballot related to Minnesota Constitutional Amendment 1, an opportunity to decide if Minnesota Lottery proceeds will continue to be directed to the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund.The state lottery was first established in 1988 by voters, at the same time they approved the constitutional amendment that dedicated about 40% of lottery revenues to protect conserve, preserve and enhance Minnesota’s air, water, land, fish, wildlife and other natural resources.In 1998 that same measure was extended with great voter support until 2025, directing proceeds from the Minnesota Lottery to the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund.
