The September 9 Lake County board meeting began with a discussion of the preliminary levies to be set by the county by September 30, one for the general fund and one for the Housing and redevelopment Authority (HRA). County Commissioner Matt Huddleston spoke about the proposed (and adopted at the meeting) preliminary levy of $13,429,822, a 5.67% increase over 2025, and a preliminary levy for the Lake County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) levy of $635,497, up from $594,372. The HRA levy has an overall limit set in statute- formula based on a percentage of a county’s overall estimated market value.
