North Shore Inline Marathon 2024

If you’ve never been along Scenic 61 when the inline skate marathoners pass by each September you have missed the chance to experience a special kind of adrenaline rush.Over 2,000 skaters pass by, many at mind-boggling speeds, others at a more leisurely pace heading to Duluth from Two Harbors.Many local residents make the intersections safe and keep an eye on the skaters, ready to help if needed.The skating community and volunteers at this year’s North Shore Inline Marathon are remembering 36-year-old Duluth native Mike Lufholm who died following the race on Saturday.
