Two Harbors council rejects grant-funded project to clean up E.coli in Agate Bay
A project that has been more than four years in the works to reduce E.coli in the waters of Agate Bay was voted down at Monday night’s city council meeting.Fully grant funded at $750,000 and readied to be let for bids in order to be completed yet this year, the Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District (LCSWCD) had developed the project and received approval by the council several years ago.The biochar project would use ditches, some of which already exist, and basic landscaping changes to cause the flow of stormwater runoff to move more slowly through natural areas for filtration.
