How rural communities are leading changeWhile the temps and humidity were tropical this past Monday, MPR’s Kerri Miller kept her cool near the corner of Nelson and Judson at the MPR booth at the Minnesota State Fair.There she gathered leaders in rural communities throughout Minnesota to have a conversation about how rural voices are being heard in order to strengthen their communities.Kitty Mayo was there to participate and help launch Miller’s 2024 Rural Voice Series.You can listen to the recorded conversation to be aired on Minnesota Public Radio News 100.5 FM at 9:00am, September 2nd.Read an op-ed in last Sunday’s Minnesota Star Tribune written by Tim Penny about the Rural Voice Series that includes voices from Lake and Cook counties that were involved in the housing forum hosted by the Lake County Press last year.
