North Shore Storm Cross-country ski finds snow
Though there has been little snow for regular practice the North Shore storm cross-country ski teams competed on December 19 at Mount Itasca in Grand Rapids.8th grader Gunny Skadberg placed fourth in the junior varsity 5K race.
Brimson post office sees change, a place to gather
In a small but strong community like Brimson, a post office can be a link to creating community.After 20 years of working at the Brimson US Post Office, Lynn Boggie finished her final shift last Friday.Located about 30 miles from the closest post offices in Two Harbors or Hoyt Lakes, many living in the area say that Boggie has served well taking care of the comings and goings of packages, bills, newspapers and mail ranging from connecting to the bigger world and taking care of daily business.Starting as a clerk 20 years ago, Boggie was Brimson’s postmaster for a time.
News Flash – Local Fisherman Causes Quite a Stink on Christmas Eve!
Jason Bradley, local Silver Creek Township resident and Lake Superior commercial fisherman, caused quite the stink at the local Two Harbors laundromat on the eve of Christmas.At 6:30 pm, a group of holiday carolers were singing at households near 13th Street and 7th Avenue, when they were suddenly affronted by a most dreadful fish odor wafting into the air.
