Imholte goes to State Friday, first Agate backstroke section champion since 1989
Two Harbors High School sophomore Bella Imholte has distinguished herself on the swim team throughout the season, then at section prelims she qualified for the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.Coach Heather Mayfield says that what happened the day of section finals was a great learning experience for one of the most important lessons of athletics and life; bouncing back when things do not go the way you hoped.Her first race that gave her a shot at going to state during last Saturday’s meet was the 50 freestyle.

Sandra Bangsund, 82, of Two Harbors, died on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Hilltop Health and Rehab in Duluth.Sandy was born September 17, 1941, to Norman and Florence (Rosen) Ronning in Duluth and was a life-long resident of Two Harbors.

Lake County Veterans Memorial Association, website launch seeking Veterans photos
The Lake County Veterans Memorial Association is reaching out to residents of the county in the hopes of getting photographs of veterans for their new website.Formed in 2022 the association set up their board and created their nonprofit status with the goal of creating a comprehensive Lake County Veterans Memorial with the intent to honor all past and present Lake County Veterans in all branches of the military.Gary Ganser, secretary of the association, says that getting the website launched has been their main focus before serious fundraising gets underway.
