Ruth’s Vegetarian purchased, rebranding to Be Natural Foods

A new look and a rebranding are coming to Two Harbors-based food production located along the main drag on 7th Avenue/Hwy 61.Formerly the Pizza Hut building, and then the home of Ruth’s Vegetarian Gourmet, co-owners and siblings Nick and Michelle Bendas are excited to finally announce their plans to change some of the products.Completing purchase of the business and building from Ruth’s originator Bruce Bacon just this fall, Nick says that they are eager to get production back up and running.But first things first; rebranding.Be Natural Foods will be the name of the new company, but Nick says the intention is to get the facility up and running again and to keep their production in Two Harbors.

Christmas Tea on the Edna G 2023

Found on the signs and websites for Two Harbors, the Edna G tugboat has become a symbol of the city and is on the National Register of Historic Places.The maroon and gold tug served to help ore boats move in and out of the harbor until 1981, except for the two years she was commissioned to the East Coast to help during WWI.Now, emblematic of the history of ore on the north shore, the Edna G is owned by the city, and looked over by the Friends of the Edna G, a nonprofit since 2018.
