June Anderson, 83, Two Harbors, died Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Lake View Hospital.June was born June 13, 1940, to Jack and Juanita “Bessie” (Morris) Barnes in Trouty, Newfoundland, where she grew up.

Swimming & Diving coach Heather Mayfield has a unique approach to her personal coaching style; there better be laughter and smiles, because there is going to be a heck of a lot of hard work.“Swimmers work so hard, they have their faces in the water for 90 percent of practice, you have to make sure you find the fun!” says Mayfield.Herself a year-round competitive swimmer throughout her school years, Mayfield says that she learned that to stay motivated athletes need to incorporate fun into the equation.With this year’s team, though quite young overall, Mayfield feels like she is hitting her mark.“I have had multiple coaches come up to me during meets and say ‘you guys are having a lot of fun!’”, said Mayfield.That’s feedback that Mayfield revels in.
