Adopt a Highway volunteers remove 38,500 bags of trash from highways in 2022

More than 900 highway sections available for adoption statewide The Minnesota Department of Transportation thanks the thousands of Adopt a Highway volunteers who helped to keep roadsides clean and free of litter in 2022 by picking up more than 38,500 bags of trash from highway ditches, and MnDOT invites more Minnesotans to join the program.

Long-Time LC Historical Society board members retire

The Lake County Historical Society held a special event at the Depot Museum on Wednesday, April 12th to honor two long-time board members, Dory Pearson, and Ken Sandvik as they retire from the board. Dory Pearson has been on the board for over 20 years. In that time, she has served as board president, vice president and secretary. Ken Sandvik has also served for over twenty years, and most recently as vice-president.

'That was a special day.' Paul Erickson recalls his years at the 'new' Two Harbors high school fondly. Part of the first graduating class from that building in 1947, Erickson is seen here - 2nd from left - sporting bobby socks and all to celebrate Senior Day.
