The North Shore Storm Peewee B1 team took home the Minnesota State Consolation Championship Trophy hosted in Warroad MN last week. The boys had to battle every game.
35-53. On Wednesday March 15th, Two Harbors took on the Pequot Lakes Patriots in the 1st of 2 Section 7AA semi-finals that night. Both teams came out cold from the field as the game was scoreless over 4 minutes in. The Agates had some golden opportunities but had several shots go in & out. Finally, some shots started dropping for both teams with the Patriots opening up a 25-14 halftime lead. At halftime the Agates tried to no avail to drum up some offensive looks especially for leading scorer and Polar League MVP Trent Gomez, but give the Patriots credit- their game plan was to deny Gomez the ball and double-team immediately when he did receive it. They adjusted quickly when we moved the ball and pretty much contested every shot we took.

In mid-September of 2022, I got a call from a Hill family member (can’t remember first name) who said that two out-of-town family members were in Larsmont, MN, for a reunion and would like to see CRUSADER II. The two were related to Reuben and Helmer Hill who had built CRUSADER II. Naturally, I gave him an enthusiastic “Of course!”
One of the Lake County Press’s loyal readers shared a really neat moment with us on a phone call today while she set up her one-year subscription renewal. Picture this: Mary Lou Anderson, originally from Two Harbors and now a resident of Proctor, found an “extra” Lake County Press in her mailbox a few weeks back. Noticing that the two papers were sort of stuck together, Mary Lou found the address of a person she once knew in Two Harbors on one of them.
