According to Scott Ross, athletic director for the Lake Superior School District #381, the best way to keep track of the district’s sports schedule is through the Polar League website; www.polarleague.org. An easy to use interactive website, users can click on the school by city name they are looking for (Silver Bay, Two Harbors), and then click on the dates they want to know about games for. Polarleague.org has information about what teams are playing where, and when. Ross also says that this is the only source he will endorse for accurate information, and that as soon as he has official word, the site is updated immediately. Options for sorting information by dates, sports or teams are also available. Another handy feature at polarleague.org is the ability to be sent notifications with any updates or changes.
Since May of 2020 Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors has offered on-site cremation, though many people are not aware of that option. For many years cremation has been possible through Cavallin’s, though only off-site at a Superior, Wisconsin location.
Comfort & Joy is the name of a holiday drive being held in Two Harbors this year, and its title brings to mind the perfect idea of what we would wish for others during the holidays. Al Peterson of Auto Value says that they have been participating in a holiday drive for the last 20 years, going back to Toys for Tots in partnership with Evolve Salon, and then a collaboration with the Two Harbors Area Food. “There was a need to be filled in the community, so we collaborated to do something about it. It’s always important to us to help others in our community,” said Peterson.
