Highlights and recap of the 2023 Agate volleyball season

The Two Harbors High School Volleyball Season is officially wrapped up and we are sad to see it go! It has been a great season in which we welcomed many new faces with open arms. This season we had enough athletes to form a Junior High team, with a total of 33 athletes program-wide. The volleyball teams played with heart and dedication, leaving it all on the court each and every time.

Big Day for Margaret Nurmi

Reaching 100 years of age on November 8, 2022 was a big deal for Two Harbors resident Margaret Nurmi, but going to the voting polls in person was at the top of her birthday wish list. Family members, fire and police and city representatives held a birthday parade to let Margaret know how much her century on this planet is appreciated.

Masked Fan Speaks

Just an average Vikings game & NHL Rules! Well, man oh man! Was that a Minnesota Vikings game this afternoon or what? The Vikes went out to Orchard Park, NY, to take on the Buffalo Bills, a team many consider to be the best in the AFC, and came away winners in a 33-30 OT classic of a game most media were immediately labeling as the Game of the Year. That is pretty lofty praise for what took place on the gridiron today, but I can't refute it.

Editor's note: That old Great March for Community Newspapers is finally gearing up to head back north. Since it is deer season a number of hunters have left the camp for their shacks but vowed to return and rejoin the procession.
