Oddness continues in the weather patterns for us on the North Shore. If the Big Lake could warm up a bit maybe, we can squeeze out some bearable warm days yet this year. My green bean plants are doing well, I think I have neem oiled away the pests, and now I am going to be slug hunting in my berry patch. We had a bear stroll though the property like nobodies’ business last week, that was exciting for the dogs, not so much for me. Until next time….
VA Caregiver Support Program The Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) offers support and services for family caregivers of eligible Veterans who were seriously injured in the line of duty during certain time periods and meet other eligibility requirements. The VA recognizes the important role family caregivers in supporting the health and wellness of Veterans.

A special meeting of the Two Harbors city council was held on Monday, July 18. The approval of land appropriation for a proposed senior housing project led the agenda with a recommendation by the Public Affairs committee in a meeting on July 14.
In an energized campaign for Two Harbor city council seats, three candidates for Ward 1 and three candidates for councilor-at-large responded to an invitation by the Lake County Press and KTWH community radio to speak about emerging issues.
