Split Rock Wilds Mountain Bike trail officially opened

Last week Nate Eide, Land Commissioner for Lake County, was on hand with other officials and representatives to see a great idea he had finally come to fruition. A mountain bike trail rider himself, Eide noted in 2015 that the area around Split Rock Lighthouse State Park would be a great place for a mountain bike trail. Starting to build in 2020, with funding from the IRRRB, Greater Minnesota Parks and Trails Legacy Fund, and the One Track Mind Foundation, 12 miles of trail were built between the new Shipwreck Creek Campground and Cove Point Lodge in Beaver Bay. From the Outside

A Road-tripping Ramble Something told me I should check my tires. After driving more than 200 miles of rough gravel roads in the mountains and semi-desert country of Wyoming over the previous few days, I was now climbing out of the remote, Centennial Valley of southwest Montana and up to a high saddle between the Snowcrest and Gravelly ranges on a deeply rutted dirt road that didn’t even have gravel.
