The United Church in Two Harbors is starting up their summer tradition of providing Simple Suppers on Thursday evenings as a way to connect with the wider community, and to raise some funds for the church.

Dr. Sally Stout, a retired chiropractor who lives in Lake County, supplemented her practice with kinesiology and acupuncture. In an interview covering both her long career and her current thoughts, Stout reports, “I got interested in chiropractic after I was told, as a teenager, to simply accept lifelong tendonitis in my right arm.” After three months of chiropractic treatment, Sally “had 90% of my arm back. That’s when I got really interested,” she states. Working her way through chiropractic school in the 1980s was a challenge, but “I found it much more rewarding than medical school,” she said.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources invites anglers and others to comment through Friday, July 15, on fisheries management plans for several lakes in the Finland fisheries work area. In Cook County, the Four Mile Lake plan will include an update of fisheries information and a review of sampling frequency.
