Two Harbors track at state

In the preliminaries for the State Track and Field meet, Two Harbors runners finished as follows: the girls 4X400 meter relay (Jenna Marxhausen, Lamar Gordon, Grace Swanson, Trinity Giddings) took 10th place. Giddings took 12th place in the 400, Delaney Nelson took 12th in the 100, Tanja Thomas took 16th in the 200, and Autumn Smith took 14th in the 3200. Senior Ethan Moss took 15th in the Shot Put and 14th in the Discus.

Letters TO THE Editor

I was pleased to see Katya's Corner last week in which Katya Gordon acknowledges that "climate change is not, per se, the issue of our time". Indeed, it is not! It is only a symptom of the much more fundamental predicament we have gotten ourselves into. "...the real problem" she states, "is the degradation of the planet."

Katya’s Corner

Watching the Minnesota Class A State Track and Field meet, I could not help but be wowed by the blood, sweat, and tears on display as teenagers put their hearts, emotions, vulnerabilities, and bodies on the line to see what they could do. There was some drama: heart-breaking trip-ups, missed baton interchanges, knocked-down hurdles, post-race collapses. But for the most part, everyone just gave it 100% and you could tell by their faces. And their speed.

Mary Lou Johnson

Mary Lou Johnson has been serving school lunch to generations of Two Harbors elementary students and is retiring after 49 years. Johnson first worked at the Minnehaha Elementary as an assistant cook, then when a new cafeteria was built there it became a central kitchen and Johnson and crew cooked all the meals for the John A.

Fresh Start Summer for Kids Ages 0-18 in the Arrowhead Library System

Mountain Iron, MN, June 10, 2022 -- To help get kids and families engaged in summer reading, a select number of public libraries in the Arrowhead Library System (ALS) region will be offering a Fresh Start Summer program for patrons ages 0-18 during the summer months. Fresh Start Summer is a way for kids and teens who have lost or damaged items to complete activities in the library or at home and have some or all of the fines removed, including Silver Bay Public Library.
