We are in a climate

We are in a climate emergency. Our summers are shorter and hotter. Our winters are irregular. Parts of Two Harbors smell of gas, and pollution. None of this will get better until we do something about it. We don’t want our children living in a polluted world, overcrowded with trash.

Katya’s Corner

One Good Home for Everyone Like many others, I feel distressed about the growing wealth gap between lower and upper socio-economic classes, a phenomenon that has plagued our country in the last few decades. Homes are one focal point of inequity.

The Reluctant Editor

As I have written about over the past few weeks, new ideas, technologies or even recipes seem to move faster than our ability to understand the impact they will have on our lives. A good new recipe, for example, will cause me to shift my eating habits toward repeating said good new recipe many times over in a short while, often to the point of exhaustion.

Pet of the Week

I got Chester from the pound when he was 9 months old and had been abused by 2 different families by 9 months old. We had an instant connection and I also changed his name because he was so young and had been abused while he had his other name and I didn’t want him to remember bad things every time he heard that name. So he has been Sir Chester Carl since I got him. Or Precious Chester. And when we talk to each other we know what we’re saying to each other. Chester listens to me and I listen to him. He will now be 7 years old in July. My angel. Photo courtesy of Lynne Counter
