4% Limit on STRs Approved by Two Harbors Council

At the regular city council meeting held in Two Harbors on May 9 Paul Iverson urged the council to pass the second reading of an amended ordinance limiting short-term rentals (STRs) in the city. Speaking in his role as a member of the Two Harbors Housing and Redevelopment Authority, Iverson said he believed pursuing competitive grant applications in the future might be com promised without a limit on STRs.

Moratorium on STRs Passed in Lake County

At the May 10 meeting of the Lake County board of commissioners a resolution was passed to institute a 12-month moratorium on any new short-term rentals. In previous weeks the board had held a public hearing on the subject, met in a special work session to discuss it, and followed the process and decisions of the Two Harbors Planning and Zoning commission and city council closely.

Staff versus Students Hoops

Two Harbors faculty and staff took on the boys and girls basketball squad last Saturday and raised funds for the Two Harbors Area Food Shelf as part of the fun. Roman Wacker, 84, Two Harbors, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Lake View Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Roman was born March 26, 1938 to Mathew and Marie (Heimenz) Wacker in Morrison County, MN.
