Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is actively seeking citizen input on potential plans for the Highway 61 corridor through Two Harbors, and roundabouts are an integral piece of the discussion. MnDOT is examining the possibility of using roundabouts for the two major intersections leading in and out of town (at Culvers in the southwest end of town, and Holiday on the northeast end), as well as smaller roundabouts in the center of town.
At the most recent meeting of the Silver Bay city council, property valuations and their tax implications were discussed with a contingent of several representatives of Lake County staff and elected officials.
Even though the field has been plowed, plenty of snow remains on the Two Harbors High School baseball field and the season is still a ways away. More snow is predicted as winter and spring continue to jockey for position. Local ball teams are hoping to get games underway soon and it looks like next week is the target. Travis James Kelley was received into the arms of the Lord on March 24, 2022 at the age of 50. Travis was born in Two Harbors, MN, the son of Valerie & Jim Kelley.
Youth and Spring in the Bottomlands There were hundreds of ducks and geese on the river representing the wide variety of species that twice annually traverse the Mississippi Flyway, north to south, or south to north, depending on the season. On this day in early April they were heading north, but staging on the Mississippi River, because the ponds and lakes to the north were still locked in ice.

And yes, in recalling an earlier skydiving incident in which the reluctant editor was stuck flying an old plane that he didn’t know how to fly, it gave him pause to think of a story in which God Takes a Vacation from humanity and its lack of humanity for each other (Lake County Press—editions 6-8).
There are lots of things going on out there across Lake County in terms of youth sports. Please let us know about scores and team photos and any other info you might have. As well, there are miles of ski and snowshoe and hiking trails and for Lake County athletes of all stripes to enjoy so please let us know what shape the trails are in so we can share that with readers.
Well, you can look outside and see that not much is happening on the softball and baseball fields, the track or the golf course. I call it Sprinter, that lingering winter that won’t let spring get underway.
