Previously we have discussed how disability is a natural state humans experience throughout life. I have experienced this since age 7 when I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA) which is now called Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). As someone who has many joint contractures, less strength, and less mobility in my hands, wrists, and elbows, the time I spend in the kitchen might look a bit different than others and yet I bet many of you could benefit from some of my kitchen hacks. So let’s share some kitchen aids and hacks that can help all of our hands, wrists, and backs because as my Occupational Therapist says, “What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”

Back for another week! Weather has been hopeful, the snow seems to be melting, the frost holes are oozing up on the roads, and this is especially fun in my experience for children and dogs. If I am being honest, I also have been known to step on a frost hole and watch it ooze.

Dear Friends in Christ~ Before moving to Two Harbors I got to hang out with my granddaughter Lila a couple of days a week. One of our rituals was watching the PBS children’s program Wild Kratts.

APRIL 23, 2022 100 YEARS AGO (1922) The dollar a mile sentence for automobile speeders seems to be obtaining the desired results in minimizing accidents due to infraction of the speed regulations. Chief of Police Nelson advises the Chronicle that he has issued orders to patrolmen to be more observant as to the speed of motorists than they were last season and the probable result will be that the city will be enriched unless more consideration is given to the speed regulations.

VA Disability - Increase I have already introduced service-connected disability compensation benefits. I have more to share regarding the process of submitting an original claim and establishing your service-connected disability ratings, but you will have to be patient for another week or two.
