Hello Finland, Winning, Winter or Spring, I’m not quite sure which is which anymore, are you? I thought I saw a firefly! I thought I heard a frog the other night! I know I saw a mosquito out on my walk the other day! All parts of conversations I’ve had this past week. Warm up, cool down, snow, and repeat! Is this Groundhog’s Day, where is Bill hiding? These past few weeks I have heard there have been sightings in the area of; mountain lions, lynx, wild turkeys, wolves, and why yes, even a bear! I’ve heard rumblings of people thinking we will be ice fishing for opener, I mean c’mon, totally silly…….

Do you ever doubt God? Maybe it’s doubting that he cares about you, or that he’s powerful enough to help you or that he even exists. I believe that everyone, even the most solid Christian believer, goes through times of questioning God. There are the times we pray for something very specific; yet, it doesn’t happen. Or times we watch the news and see all the tragedy in the world and wonder where God is in all of it. Or times we feel lonely, ignored, or abused and seek comfort from the Lord, but we don’t seem to find any.

Postal Delivery on the North Shore

100 years ago on this day it was announced that the Rural Free Mail Deliver Route 1 out of Two Harbors would be extended by ten miles, serving an additional seventy families. While a contracted star mail route was established between Superior Wisconsin and Grand Portage Minnesota July, 1856 it would take decades to establish postal routes distributing mail from local post offices to residences and businesses in the community.
