Holm Recaps THHS Girls Basketball Season

On Thursday night, March 3 in their final game of the season, the Two Harbors High School girls basketball team lost to host Marshall Schoo 92-54 in the Section 7AA second round playoff . Karly Holm, one of the captains of the team, reported that they “kept within four points’’ in the first half, which was a high level of play for them.

There are lots of things going on out there across Lake County in terms of youth sports. Please let us know about scores and team photos and any other info you might have. ALDEN LAKE A couple of months back I studied up on the NHL standings at that point in the season. I felt that a total of twelve teams were already out of the running for the Stanley Cup tournament. That left 20 teams chasing after 16 playoff spots. In light of the current negative trending of the Minnesota WILD and the improved play of other teams that have worked their way into the race I think it’s a great time to take a fresh look at where matters stand.

Ollman earns all-conference for Silver Bay

The Silver Bay boys basketball season ended March 7 in the Section 7A playoffs when rival Cook County came to the Bay and stopped the Mariners 67-31. On a good note, Silver Bay senior Manor Ollman earned Polar League small school first team honors and will play in the Polar League all-star game, a game that will be coached by Mariner coach Jeremy Schwarz.
