Pet of the Week
Hope is looking for a new home while waiting at the Lake County Humane Society. Roughly 8 months old, she was found as a stray in Two Harbors. She is very shy, but once you are sitting down, she will come to sit on your lap. She really likes other cats, and canned food! Hope would love to find a home that is quiet and lets her be her independent self.

It’s All In Your Head
At the end of teaching a theater workshop for students, I asked “What is your one take-away from today?” A 12-year-old shot up her hand, scanned the whole group and in an Auntie Mame bravado declared “ANYone can be an actor!”

How We Impact the World
Whitney Wasko came back to the University of Minnesota after spending spring break in Sweden and told her Swedish professor, “I’m going to move to Sweden.” Her professor asked a reasonable question, “How are you going to do that?” The girl from small-town Two Harbors replied, “I don’t know, but I’m going to figure it out.” That was in March of 2017. Wasko graduated in May, and that August she left for Sweden.

The Story of The Four Chaplains
It was known as Torpedo Junction, the U-Boat infested icy waters of the North Atlantic during World War II. On February 3, 1943, the USAT DORCHESTER, an old coastal steamer quickly pressed into military service, was slowly making her way through those waters bound for Greenland.
